Lisa C. Burford is a native Washingtonian with over 25 years of nonprofit sector experienceand powerful networks in the nonprofit community.
As President of LCB Consulting, a full service management consulting firm specializing in nonprofit capacity building, Lisa provides consultation on organizational management, capacity building, and organizational sustainability. She provides workshop, retreat, and training facilitation on board development, strategic planning, executive transition, succession planning, leadership coaching, and resource development.
Throughout her career, Lisa has worked with over 500 local and national nonprofit organizations of various sizes and mission areas, including grassroots organizations, local affiliates, universities, and governmental agencies. Prior to starting LCB Consulting, Lisa served in senior executive positions for INROADS/Greater Washington, American Heart Association, National Civic League, BoardSource, and Public Allies DC.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Marketing from The American University in Washington, DC and a Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Lisa is a Standards for Excellence Licensed Consultant from the Maryland Nonprofits Standards of Excellence Institute. Lisa received a Certificate in Appreciate Inquiry from Case Western Reserve, Peer Coach training from Compass Point Nonprofit Service.
Lisa’s strong leadership is a result of her extensive participationin professional development opportunities through exclusive advanced certification programs, workshops, and conferencesthat increase knowledge, enhance skills, and provide tools to effectively meet the needs of her clients. As a result, Lisa can powerfully lead organization with educated approaches.
